Compass Gold Corporation is a Tier 2 mining issuer listed on the TSX Venture Exchange and focused on gold exploration in Mali, Africa's 3rd largest producer of gold. Compass currently holds an indirect 100% working interest in five gold exploration permits (Yanfolila, Dandoko, Kolondieba, Solabougouda and Moussala) covering 888 sq kms in key gold producing regions in southern and western Mali, West Africa.
The Company is pleased to announce that it has finalised an agreement with the shareholders of Africa Mining SARL to acquire the remaining 49% of Africa Mining. Compass now owns 100% of Africa Mining which owns four exploration gold research permits and one authorization to explore in Mali, West Africa. The acquisition will gives Compass Gold 100% of Africa Mining and therefore full control of its properties and activities.

- 5,400m Scout drill program commenced in May 2011 covering targets at Yanfolila have returned gold mineralization at the Solona target on 10 out the first 23 holes. Balance of program currently being completed.
- 5,000m diamond drilling program commencing February 2012 on Yanfolila permit.
- 3,600m RC drill program commencing late December 2011 on Dandoko permit.
- Geochemical sampling and mapping program underway on Kolondieba and Solabougouda permits.
